Mint had a major fashion moment this year, in fact its moment hasn’t ended. It’s still everywhere! This trend has had more staying power than I expected (and I’m glad, because I totally bought into it) and I think I could live with it for quite a while. Like, forever. It reminds me of the green tint of Spanish glass, and its fresh & clean palette is the perfect setting for preparing food – clearly I want a mint kitchen. I’d go so far as to tile my kitchen in it. I should probably mention that my bedroom was painted mint (“Mint Majesty,” to be exact) for years and I absolutely loved the way my black bedframe and white bookshelves looked against it.

INTERIORS:: COLORFUL KITCHEN

I do believe my meals would be all the more colorful if cooked in this kitchen. I wonder where one finds colorful glasses and gold cups? And I wonder if ghost chairs are a trend that will end any time soon… because if I invest in some I’d like them to stay around awhile!

This beautiful home belongs to one half of the blogging duo behind Desire to Inspire (one of the best interior design blogs). As I said above, this is absolutely one of my favorite kitchens of all time, I can just stare at it and all of its details to no end!
Things I love: the wooden cupboards, the pendant lighting, the modern chairs, the bright traditional rug, and of course the teapot collection! Take a good long look at the top photo, there’s so much more to love.

INTERIORS:: LYNDSAY CALEO + FITZHUGH KAROL
7 JulSome of you commented in the post below on that awesome artwork over the mantel. I thought it’d be worthwhile to post a bit more on the artist and homeowner, who happen to be one in the same.
This is the home of Lyndsay Caleo and Fitzhugh Karol, a designer duo who flip properties using salvaged architectural elements. Karol designed the artwork over their vintage fireplace. So you’ll notice hundred year old architectural elements mixed in with new artworks throughout the home, most notably in the beautiful wooden pieces in each room. And you know I love tree trunk furniture.
