5 Steps to J.Crew Cuffs

28 Jun

 See that little hashtag at the top? #WWJLD. It’s my little mantra for I-don’t-know-what-to-wear days and why-doesn’t-this-look-right moments. What Would Jenna Lyons Do. But thanks to this shirt cuff tutorial from Who What Wear I’ll be one step (ok, one inch) closer to capturing that Jenna Lyons babeness. It just so happens that when I saw this how-to I was wearing a J.Crew chambray shirt (not that much of a coincidence, that’s half the week for me). So I promptly unrolled my sleeves and gave this a try. It really worked! I think the key is in the last two steps, tugging on the corner and then scrunching at the end. It gives that slightly unkempt feel that juxtaposes the polished look of a collared shirt just perfectly.

Give it a try, and let me know if this (or #wwjld) works for you!

SUMMER SERIES:: DOUBLE DENIM

12 Jul

Take 2, of how I style denim shorts! Double denim. Whoah. I know. Now it took me a long time to finally get on board with this one, but once I did it felt so natural and not Euro-trashy like I assumed. I actually really love the look now, and it’s super comfortable. I was inspired by the country feel of it, hence the brick wall photos. There was an awesome blue barn behind me but it was on private property so that was a no go. I paired them with my wedge sneakers a la Isabel Marant. These shoes have gotten so much wear I almost feel sorry for them. On my New York trip they were practically the only shoe I brought. Super risky! But they really did work in every occasion and held up to all that walking. So I can vouch for these!

STREET STYLED NO.1 :: SUMMER DENIM!

25 Jun

Did you all have a lovely weekend? Hope so! As it turns out, I am totally and utterly addicted to denim shirts, can’t stop wearing ’em. So here’s a little summer double denim look! And because it’s summer, I included a few summer beauty essentials too – like tinted moisturizer (super lightweight foundation) and coral blush! I particularly like how our inspo girl is carrying two bags – a shoulder bag and a tote. I’m thinking of trying this myself! A small handbag for wallet, keys, phone, and a big bag for all of the other stuff that accumulates in one’s handbag, making it impossible to ever find your phone!
