MANICURE TREND:: MULTICOLOR NAILS!

This weekend I accidentally spent $50 on a Shellac manicure (I forgot to ask how much it would cost before I booked my appointment!). I got a dark purple/black with one sparkly accent nail on each ring finger, I do love it and the pro is that it will last up to 3 weeks! It was such a big commitment that it took me aaages to pick a color. On the downside, I already want to change my nails to this fun trend. I’ve often rocked this multicolor look leaving the drug store, after trying different colors on every nail – little did I know how super trendy I was being.

I’ve picked out my colors, sparkly accent nail included (it’s called Candy Shop, how cute!) and you better believe that once this Shellac finally bites the dust I’m painting my nails every color in the rainbow!

For Halloween, the ruby red dripping down over a black basecoat – how very True Blood!
Or the greens and blues of #5 could be the finishing touch to a mermaid costume.
My birthday’s in November, so it’s gotta be Happy Birthday of course.
For Thanksgiving, I’m digging that burgundy glitter over a dark red wine.
For Christmas, gold over a metallic champagne base.
And of course New Year’s is begging for the silver sparkly I Love the Nightlife.

ALEXA CHUNG’S OMBRE GLITTER MANICURE

Each of my nails has a different glitter nail polish on it right now. 

The result of seeing Alexa’s manicure and way too much time spent in the nail polish aisle yesterday.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find any polishes with big chunky sparkles in it like these green ones, but the search continues! I’m considering usually actual glitter from the arts and crafts section with a bit of clear nail polish. Nails are the hottest new accessory, and as you can tell I’m really getting into it!
I want to try different base colors underneath, like white with gold glitter, or mint with silver glitter!

Now, how to get the gradual ombre effect?

MANICURE:: NOIR FRENCH TIPS

Love this play on French tips. 

Ivania of Love Aesthetics got the look by painting her nails black (she used Rimmel) and then went over the top with a matte topcoat by Essie. So simple! This obviously looks superchic in black, but the beauty of it is it could work in any color. I might try one of my nude Essie colors. 

Or navy. Or mint. Or grey. All of my nail polishes just got an update!

And as an added bonus diy, her ring is a necklace chain wrapped around her finger. Ingenius!
