STREET STYLED:: POPPY DELEVIGNE LFW

27 Sep

This is one of my favorite street style looks to come out of Fashion Week so far. And it’s no surprise, Poppy Delevigne is arguably London’s biggest street style superstar (alongside her model sister, Cara!). I could devote a whole blog to the Delevigne sisters, but for today I’m focusing on this eclectic ensemble. You’d think that an embroidered top and ripped jeans could so easily go the route of the beachy bohemian (read: cliche) but this is no beach, it’s London Fashion Week.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of formula dressing – going out on the town? Little dress, high heel. Going to the beach? Breezy blouse, ripped jeans. But for that unexpected edge, it’s all about the mix. I wouldn’t have thought to mix daywear and nightwear quite like this, but I’ll definitely be trying to look at my closet a little differently.

STREET STYLED:: STRIPES + SANDALS

8 Aug
NECKLACE LOW LUV | DRESS FREE PEOPLE | BAG MODCLOTH | SANDALS RACHEL ZOE | CUFF MADEWELL

You guys will never believe me when I tell you this, but in this photo you can’t really tell what Karlie’s bag looks like. So I just chose the bag that I would wear with this outfit and LOOK! After creating this post and choosing all of the items I found this alternate view and it’s the saaame bag!

I believe this is what they call uncanny

So as I said in the caption above, this is the type of dress you wear on those days when you wake up feeling particularly skinny. When you have that magic flat morning tummy and you just wanna wear something fitting and show it off. Until you eat lunch. But we’ll worry about that later.

STREET STYLED NO. 3:: Leopard Sandals + Pencil Skirt

30 Jul
1. SHIRT ASOS | 2. BAG ZARA | 3. SKIRT THE ROW (similar one here) 4. SUNGLASSES F21 | 5. BRACELET ASOS | 6. SANDALS TOPSHOP

I don’t know about you but I pinned, tumbled, tweeted, and studied this particular photo to death since the moment it was published (Oct. 2011, in case you’re wondering). I believe I let out an audible gasp when I first saw it – though that’s not saying much, I do that all the time. It’s quite likely up there in my top 10 street style shots of all time. WHOA. Huge call. I know. But seriously, I adore this look and everything it stands for. Love her androgynous attitude, the black+white+leopard combo, and her strappy sandals that buckle all the way up her ankle  (why do I always love sandals that are so hard to put on?).

I’m really getting into these Street Styled posts dear readers, I hope you are too!

STREET STYLED:: COLOR BLOCKING

25 Jul

I fell HARD for Jil Sander’s long bright skirts and crisp white shirts and the subsequent editorials that followed (example 1 / example 2). However the peplum wasn’t exactly wearable and the stiff fabric was a bit formal for my day-to-day – not to mention the price tag. So I was thrilled to see this lovely rendition! A look we could all work into our real life wardrobes. A look I love for its simplicity, and yet the candy colors clash so brilliantly don’t you think?

Check out Street Styled No. 1 if you dig this post. xoxo

STREET STYLED NO.1 :: SUMMER DENIM!

25 Jun

Did you all have a lovely weekend? Hope so! As it turns out, I am totally and utterly addicted to denim shirts, can’t stop wearing ’em. So here’s a little summer double denim look! And because it’s summer, I included a few summer beauty essentials too – like tinted moisturizer (super lightweight foundation) and coral blush! I particularly like how our inspo girl is carrying two bags – a shoulder bag and a tote. I’m thinking of trying this myself! A small handbag for wallet, keys, phone, and a big bag for all of the other stuff that accumulates in one’s handbag, making it impossible to ever find your phone!
