Did y’all watch the Oscars last night? I gasped when I saw Michelle Williams (and squealed at Gwyneth Paltrow!) So it was only fitting that the coral red hue of Michelle’s Louis Vuitton gown be named our Color of the Week. And the only thing I adored more than her dress? The pink clutch she carried with it! A perfect pair.

Who was your Best Dressed pick last night?

STREET STYLE:: Hanneli + Spring

25 Mar
Perfection!

Hanneli in the most supremely perfect spring ensemble I think I’ve ever seen.
Can you honestly think of a lovelier spring look to top this? Floral A-line coat, fresh bright purse (plus mini MiuMiu bag!) and the most perfect blue suede shoes. All this, and she’s wearing socks from CVS! (For any non-Americans, that’s a chain pharmacy/chemist)
Hanneli says The socks are from CVS/Pharmacy, and I wear them with everything—they work so well with these blue Office shoes that I just bought while in London for the Acne show. Plus, they’re great for lounging around the house, as they’re a little loose and a thick.”
Sigh, what a down-to-earth style icon.

STREET STYLE:: HANNELI

If Hanneli were an ice cream, she’d be my favorite flavor.
Hmmmmm no clue where that came from. Maybe it’s the vanilla yumminess of this perfectly on-trend dress, or her perfectly transitional caramel boots.

STREET STYLE:: HANNELI

Hanneli has got it goin on. She’s so consistent, she never fumbles – it may sound like I’m describing an athlete not a street styler, but it’s just true! I’ve never seen her in a look I didn’t love.

I love her neon nails with the nude shirt here.

STREET STYLE:: SIMPLY DIVINE

1 Jul
Simply the most divine look I’ve seen all summer. (Well it’s winter here, but yunno what I mean). Check out Hanneli bringing the fanny pack back! (For my Aus and English readers – bum bag) That was actually a vintage bag that she attached to a brown belt… so the bad news is you can’t go out and buy it because it’s vintage and one of a kind. Boooo. Now let’s soak up some Hanneli style.

VIDEO:: A SWEET ESCAPE

4 Jun
Struggling to comprehend the dopeness of Liu Wen in these sunglasses, that hair, that trench. I want to slip into this film and just BE her.
Hanneli Mustaparta took these behind the scenes shots of the film, and they alone are beautiful but you have to watch the film to be transported into this mesmerizing dream world and that amazing art deco pool.
For those who are wondering, the glasses are by Cutler and Gross. And I want them.
Directed by Poppy De Villeneuve, starring Liu Wen and gangsta-cool Edoardo Ballerini for Nowness
“Liu Wen Splashes OutThe Fashion Model Dips Into Poppy De Villeneuve’s “How You Look At It”Summer in the city: a bustling, stifling and less-than-calming experience. But even in the midst of blaring car-horns, sweltering commuters and dizzying throngs of irritable pedestrians, there’s a pocket of peace to be found in every metropolis. Such moments of sweet escape provide the inspiration for today’s film, How You Look At It, directed by photographer Poppy de Villeneuve (who has shot for Vogue, Jalouse and Nylon, among others) and starring rising Chinese fashion model Liu Wen, who was recently signed as the first Asian face of Estee Lauder. To create her moment of blissful cool, De Villeneuve took to the serene spaces of New York’s Asser Levy Recreation Center—a turn-of-the-century bath house, replete with Art Deco pool—where, in a heat-induced reverie, a Norma Kamali clad Wen is joined by former Sopranos regular and actor in the upcoming Martin Scorcese-produced HBO series Boardwalk Empire Edoardo Ballerini, for a sensual, teasingly ambiguous swimming lesson. De Villeneuve found the rookie actress a “delicate, quiet, playful and dry” performer — subtle qualities that enabled Wen to breeze mesmerizingly through the city in a Dolce & Gabbana trenchcoat and Calvin Klein stilettos, her softly frizzed hair tumbling over her Cutler & Gross sunglasses. “The city is so busy and full, it’s like you’re lost in a sea of people,” says the director. Accompanying De Villeneuve on the shoot for NOWNESS was cult fashion blogger Hanneli, who shot an intriguing series of behind-the-scenes images.” – Nowness
