Dining, conversing and even working in this dining room, with its chandeliers and antique wooden table would definitely feel glamorous. When I was in high school my favorite place to do homework was in our dining room.. there’s something much more bearable about spreading out your paperwork on a big table under the light of a chandelier 😉 The modern touches like the metal chairs and white vases, keep this room from getting stuffy. I’ve already accepted that these chandeliers would not be appropriate for my little apartment, but one day…

Next time you’re garage sale-ing slash carrying furniture home that you picked up off the street, consider this option. Painting all your mismatched stools, dining chairs, outdoor chairs, what have you all the same color can result in a very edgy dining table. 

On a sidenote I once passed an ornate Moroccan side table on the side of the road but thought “Cristina you are no longer in college, stop picking furniture up off the street, you now have a job” and 15min. later when I was still fantasizing about how amazing it would look as my bedside table I went back and it was gone. And I’ve never gotten over it.

INTERIORS:: WALL ART

I’m of the opinion that you can frame or hang just about anything on your wall and make it look like art. A car? Random paint splatters? A stranger’s face? If it’s expertly framed or on a big canvas, you’re set. You see I’m suffering a bit from a stalled wall of picture frames, possibly being too picky with what goes up. Perhaps I should splatter some paint on a canvas and call it a day? Anyway, here’s some inspiration..
